Meet Dr. Croshaw & Dr. Eslami: Why We Practice Whole-Person, Not Just Whole-Chart, Psychiatry
Two board-certified psychiatrists. Zero cookie-cutter treatment plans. If you've ever left a doctor's appointment feeling like you were a diagnosis code instead of a person, this is what we built Sonoma Moon & Star Mental Health to be different from.
Dr. Jeanie Croshaw, Founder
Dr. Jeanie Croshaw is a double board-certified osteopathic psychiatrist with deep experience in both Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry. Her focus areas include medication management, trauma-informed care, and addiction treatment — but what patients consistently mention is her warmth.
As the founder of Sonoma Moon & Star Mental Health, Dr. Croshaw built the practice around a simple belief: evidence-based psychiatry and genuine human connection aren't in tension — they should always go together. She's also a lifelong martial artist, which shows up in how she talks about resilience with her patients: not as a personality trait you either have or don't, but as something you build, one deliberate step at a time.
She is a dedicated advocate for accessible psychiatric care throughout Sonoma County, and believes strongly in meeting patients exactly where they are — whether that's an in-person visit or a secure telepsychiatry session from home.
Dr. Setare Eslami, Clinical Psychiatrist
Dr. Setare Eslami's approach starts from a different question than most clinical visits: not "what's wrong with you," but "who are you, beyond the symptoms." Her clinical background spans psychiatric emergency services, inpatient psychiatry, intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient care — giving her a wide-lens understanding of mental health across every level of severity and every stage of recovery.
Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and women's mental health. As Chair of Women's Mental Health for the Central California Psychiatric Society, she brings both clinical rigor and a strong sense of advocacy to her work.
Patients describe her as curious and non-judgmental — someone who listens to the full story before reaching for a diagnosis, and who treats the individual, not the label.
Why This Matters for You
Choosing a psychiatrist is not like choosing any other service provider. You're trusting someone with the most vulnerable parts of your life — or your child's, or your aging parent's. That trust starts with knowing who's actually sitting across from you (or on the other side of the screen).
Both Dr. Croshaw and Dr. Eslami were chosen — and chose to build this practice — around a single standard: care that's clinically excellent and genuinely human. Not one or the other.
